Wednesday Jan 31
Last night we went to bed early so that we could get a
glimpse of the Blue Blood Moon, a once in a lifetime experience. It was a great
sight. Wednesday was also the warmest morning so far with temps at 37 degrees at 7am and winds of 30 MPH. The
wind died down a little around 10am and we went to Copper. Not many cars in the
parking lot and fewer people on the slopes. The reason I believe was because of
the skiing conditions. It felt like SPRING CONDITIONS. The runs were VERY icy
with a number of bare spots showing rocks and little trees. After 2 runs, for us, it was too dangerous to
ski and we called it a day. The wind had blown off what little snow there is
and the tops of the mountains were completely bare. We will not go skiing until
conditions improve. Some snow is expected Thursday with more on Saturday and
Sunday. In the evening we met some friends at the local pool hall to discuss
the day’s events. We are all keeping our figures crossed for MORE snow.

Nice picture of the moon. I was not up to see it here on the East coast
