Friday Jan 26
Friday morning was snowy , very windy with temps in the low
teens. It was a lousy morning. But this was the snow storm they forecasted. But
by 10am, the snow had stopped and we had only 2-3 inches of snow here and at
the resorts. Around 11am we decided to go to Copper to ski. The parking lot at
Copper was almost filled. Not sure where all these people came from because of
the morning conditions. As we started up for our first run, we asked ourselves,
“ Where are all the people” . It looked like a regular weekday. As we skied
down to the lifts, no wait time at all. We were able to find a lot of fresh
powder and the 2-3 inches of snow made a BIG difference. You could tell they
were getting ready for the weekend because the outside bar was open. You can
get a 24 oz Coors Light for only $9. I passed on it. In the evening we went to
a restaurant called – Sausce , which advertises a 100 bottle wine list. They
also have a wall of liquor. It is a great place for happy hour. Tomorrow being
Saturday, we will be going to Breckenridge to view the Ice Sculptures . So much
for our snow storm. No new snow until Thursday or Friday of next week.
